On some weird way I feel you. But srly guys this game is so much better than CIV.
Played it for a few hours today, no idea what I was doing. I don't have a sense of scale for time within the game, so it's really hard to tell as to how well I'm doing.

I suggest playing as Portugal/Castille for getting grasp of basics. And those damn tutorials are seriously must.

I used this one.

Tried another browser? Maybe it's something with Avast + Firefox or then simply Avast alone

School year started and I managed to once again fuck up my knee in the first party of the year. Didint really help that I decided to walk 3km home from the club.

Got sick myself 2 weeks ago when I walked back home from the club after my friend and I's ride fell asleep and didn't answer our calls. I also got the legendary pick-up line of "are you gay or do you like her?" (while pointing at my friend).

I would be interested in knowing how the mechanical side of these games could be interpreted (or measured..?).
As this would likely fall into some of the categories some researchers/theorists claim to be a part of intelligence.

Also this is the stuff on the study: http://journals.plos...al.pone.0186621

I am not sure if this is representative, though.Posted Image

So how about the efficiency of the learning process during these games? How does crystallized intelligence (aka game knowledge) affect this?

It is quite obvious that someone with 5000 games + actively following scene + experience in other similar games has a higher chance of having good game knowledge than someone who literally just started playing his/her first game ever. And this for one wasn't taken into account, in this particular study at least..

How does the correlation work between different ranks? Is it higher in the higher end of the ladder or the lower? The mid tier? How far does game knowledge help; how much does it help? What's the factors between the usage of knowledge and active memory?

Civ 6 is on sale for $12 along with two scenario packs; I bought it at $30 and it's worth it imo. Also getting a full expansion next month.

They trade their own cities away a bit too freely (fix inc soon apparently), outside of that they don't differ much from Civ 5 AI's difficulty. Range + walls is just as OP as before.
Biggest problems imo are that:
1) There's a bit of a mid-game stagnation (few mid-game units, few wonders or new buildings), though it allows early game units to be useful for longer. (Swordsmen, horsemen etc)
2) Wonder spamming doesn't seem to be that viable of a strategy anymore, wonders cost insane amounts.
3) There are very few civilizations, though that's to be expected for now. Atm you kind of have to buy the scenario packs for more civs, but the new expansion is bringing about as many as vanilla civ 6 had so it should be okay.

What I like is that happiness isn't global, and instead per each city and can never start out negative. You don't get punished for establishing a new city.
Trade routes and roads are much better, as you now builds roads towards enemy cities as well.
Roads are slower as well, so moving units around isn't that easy and positioning them near the right cities is important.
Each city doesn't *need* 3 tiles from each direction of it, as districts eat up population and cities don't get quite as populated as before, so you can plop down cities closer to each other.
You don't need to settle next to water to have ships; you can build a harbor as long as there's a water tile within your territory, and then build ships there.

So basicly biggest problem that I have many massive multiplayers is that AI is able to spawn massive amounts of units for free in fog of war is still there? Also big problem with CiV AI is that it keeps spamming you with denounces and refuses to do literarly anything with you after you have started one single war.

Diplomacy's a lot better; even if you get denounced you can still become friends in a short time. It also shows exactly how much you need to be friendly with AIs etc so it's easier to manage. And it feels like there's less unit spamming, though I've only played on Emperor.
