Hello new player, so you wish to pick a class?

This guide is for you, i will guide you through each one of the classes and recommend you a class and talent build on your ability as a CSS player through 2 parts.

Information:

Damage: How much damage that spec does.
Difficulty: How difficult the specific class or talent tree is at leveling.
CSS Skill Required: How much raw css skill the class requires in order to play good.
Preferred Distance: The preferred distance of engagement.
Survivability: How good the specific talent tree is at surviving encounters.
Main Statistic: What you should aim to get as much as possible, sacrificing the secondary statistic is you must.
Secondary Statistic: What you should aim to get, but not as much as the main stat.

Today ill go through the easy to level classes, harder to level ones will come at a later time.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Warrior
Difficulty [Easy]
CSS Skill Required [High]

This class is easy to level if you are skilled at CSS, boasting massive physical damage, this class is, depending on your spec, either a brawler, or a long-range physical damage dealer, ill go through each one of the specs:

-------------------------------------------

Arms [Recommended]

Damage [Depends on your skill level]
Difficulty [Depends on your level of skill at CSS]
Survivability [Medium]
Preferred Distance [Long]
Main Statistic [Strength]
Secondary Statistic [Stamina]

This spec can deal a massive amount of physical damage if you are skilled at CSS, this spec rewards skill at long-range distances, this spec can do well at any distance if you are high level(80+), but still prefers long-range combat.

-------------------------------------------

Fury [Not Recommended]

Damage [Good]
Difficulty [Very High]
Survivability [Low/Medium]
Preffered Distance [Short-Medium]
Main Statistic [Strength]
Secondary Statistic [None]

This spec focuses on short and medium range combat, rage is a big mechanic in Fury, as this spec focuses on building up Rage and then using it and depends on it more often than other specs. Tier 4 talents include some healing, so the survivability gets buffed then, this spec is not recommended for leveling your warrior, its best used at high levels.

-------------------------------------------

Protection

Damage [Poor]
Difficulty [High]
Survivability [Best]
Preferred Distance [All]
Main Statistic [Stamina]
Secondary Statistic [Strength, Resistance]

This spec boasts amazing survivability at high levels with good gear, and OK survivability when ur leveling up, this spec focuses in getting as much stamina as possible, along with resistance in order to soak up damage.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rogue

Difficulty [Easy]
CSS Skill Required [Medium]

This class focuses on deception and stealth, as such, how easy or difficult ull find it to level mostly depends on the people you are facing.

-------------------------------------------

Combat [Recommended]

Damage [Very Good]
Difficulty [Easy]
Survivability [Low-Medium]
Preferred Distance [Short-Medium]
Main Statistic [Agility]
Secondary Statistic [Strength, Accuracy]

This is the spec that focuses less on stealth and deception and more on straight up combat, Accuracy helps your accuracy in mid-range combat.

-------------------------------------------

Subtlety [Not Recommended]

Damage [Depends on your skill level]
Difficulty [High]
Survivability [Low/Depends on your Enemies]
Preferred Distance [Melee/Long]
Main Statistic [Agility]
Secondary Statistic [None]

This spec is quite good, but it is very tricky to use for new players, and, as such, its not recommended, high level players use this spec along with the talent Shadow Blades, to either knife their opponents, or use snipers, in order to get kills, survivability depends on your enemies due to how this specs stealth works

-------------------------------------------

Assasination

Damage [Good]
Difficulty [Medium]
Survivability [Low]
Preferred Distance [Short]
Main Statistic [Agility]
Secondary Statistic [Attack Speed]

This spec focuses more on stealth and cooldowns than the other two specs, dealing large bursts of damage in a very short amount of time off of stealth due to massive attack speed.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mage

Difficulty [Medium]
CSS Skill Required [Medium]

I am personally recommending this class because it is very straightforward, it has difficulty though because if its inherently low survivability/low physical damage reduction.

-------------------------------------------

Frost

Damage [Good]
Difficulty [Medium]
Survivability [Medium]
Preferred Distance [All]
Main Statistic [Intelligence]
Secondary Statistic [Spell Damage]

This spec has the most survivability out of the 3 because of its Ice Barrier and the glyphs it has, this spec focuses on freezing your opponents and dealing burst damage to them while they are frozen, has the most AoE out of any spec.

-------------------------------------------

Fire

Damage [Very Good]
Difficulty [Medium]
Survivability [Worst]
Preferred Distance [All]
Main Statistic [Intelligence]
Secondary Statistic [Spell Damage]

This spec deals a lot of damage, however, its one of the squishiest specs out there, its a massive glass cannon.

-------------------------------------------

Arcane [Recommended]

Damage [Good-Very Good]
Difficulty [Easy]
Survivability [Low-Medium]
Preferred Distance [All]
Main Statistic [Intelligence]
Secondary Statistic [Spell Damage]

This spec is a mix of frost and fire, it deals burst damage, but not as high as fire, it has survivability, but not as high as frost, as such, its recommended for leveling your mage, this spec has its own unique spells, what i mean by mix of frost and fire, i meant in terms of damage/survivability.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Shaman

Difficulty [Easy]
CSS Skill Required [Low-Medium]

-------------------------------------------

Elemental [Not Recommended]

Damage [Okay]
Difficulty [Very High]
Survivability [Medium]
Preferred Distance [Long]
Main Statistic [Intelligence]
Secondary Statistic [Agility]

This spec focuses highly on dealing damage with Shocks and Totems and kiting around.

-------------------------------------------

Enhancement [Recommended]

Damage [Best]
Difficulty [Low]
Survivability [Low]
Preferred Distance [Short]
Main Statistic [Agility]
Secondary Statistic [None]

This spec has the potential to deal a lot of damage, mostly because its mixed, and scales well with gear, you being skilled also helps a lot with this spec, my recommended spec out of the 3.

-------------------------------------------

Restoration

Damage [Poor]
Difficulty [Medium]
Survivability [Medium-High]
Preferred Distance [Short]
Main Statistic [Intelligence]
Secondary Statistic [Agility]

This spec focuses on supporting your teammates and healing them, pick it if you want to be supportive.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And this was for today, if this guide is well recieved, ill do a second part focusing on the more difficult classes. :)

I like the idea, but I'd recommend leaving out parts such as:

This spec is bad at the moment, pales in comparison to some other classes

As balance changes can happen at any time, I think you should just focus on the generic playstyle of the spec, not necessarily how good that playstyle fares at the time of writing :)

Ill update accordingly if certain specs get buffs. :)

no, you will not update it if something changes, that is impossible and delusive.

Also, tell me how often complete new players come to wowmod forum in seek of a guide?

I appreciate you willingness to help, but it has to be done in right form, in right place.
The right place for this is index page of wiki.wowmod.eu, which is visible if person types wchelp in-game

Haven't read wiki version yet one thing really bothered me. Try to write as neutral as possible when making post like this. Leave "I recommend" comments out and keep basic info and this will be very usefull.

This was originally meant to be a guide, not a wiki post, i dont understand the whole neutral thing on the wiki.

Do note this is WoW for CS:S, so the guy should have aspects how WoW characters will affect CS:S gameplay, rather than some in-depth class explanation.
super hyphy (no sound) : stinky, can u make 82 uncommons better than 78 epics

Im gonna drop the I recommend comments in the class explanation, but im gonna keep the recommended tags, they signify whats easier/less complex to level than the other specs.

Plus, its not like im forcing them into a specific spec, im just recommending, if they wish to play something else then they can go ahead and do so.
